6:30-10.30 pm
At Collective Future
1325, Palmetto Street - 90013 Los Angeles
As our lives become increasingly mapped, mirrored, and interwoven with intelligent machines, our need for new interaction forms continue to grow. Body Semantics is an exploration of human movement as a natural interface between our bodies and technology, whether via mobile devices, gaming consoles, and soon, in intelligent environments and whole virtual worlds.
Where are the places and ways to locate personal (body) agency in public and private spaces? In mixed, physical, and virtual spaces?
How can we affirm identity through gesture?
How do we manage tensions between designing universal standards vs personalized gestures?
swissnex San Francisco, the Consulate General of Switzerland in San Francisco, and Collective Future, will bring together a group of diverse experts and practitioners to explore Body Semantics in the digital age in an evening filled with conversation, dinner, and participatory food explorations to investigate our bodies — and the language of movements, gestures, and the interface/interactions in the context of future intelligent and immersive environments.
On invitation only . More info here

hereA Celebratory Dinner on Mars
What if you were among the first settlers of Mars?
What if you could create new rituals, food cultures, and senses of community - with only what you could pack in an overnight bag?
What if your table setting could be a memory from home, what would you bring?
Collective Future—in collaboration with Henry Fisher and Anna Rose Hopkins of Hank and Bean, Vera Multani of Mars City Design, and Kerenza Harris of Sci-ARC—invites you to participate in a dinner workshop where these questions and others will be explored among friends and strangers. The dinner is an opportunity to experience that most basic and necessary human ritual—a shared meal—in a radically new way, addressing the provocative challenge of how we explore Mars, not just as a scientific expedition, but as a second home for humans?
Human habitants could arrive on Mars as early as 2030.
Our Chefs will invite diners into process with a homesteader demo, featuring techniques and cultures imported from earth in play with the simulated Martian “first foods”. Diners will then be invited to enjoy a rolling family style exploring ritual, thriving not surviving, duration-based process and more.
*This meal will be plant based with limited accents of dairy and animal protein.

Hosted by Collective Future, Mars City Design and Sci-ARC presents The Infinite Dimension, a two day fun activities, an AR & VR workshop followed by a seminar and an exhibition the next day that is open to public.
This will be the second VR Workshop after a successful one last year, where Mars architecture, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and experimental parametric architecture collide in a ground-breaking event. The rendez-vous of all these multi-disciplinary creators, thought visioning our parametric design research, using Mars habitat as an experimental subject, have opened access to an infinite dimensions beyond a 3-Dimensional features in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
Public with a basic AR/VR or 3D model design skill are encouraged to join to gain new skills, expand the network in this industry, and meet the unique visionary leaders in the space and entertainment field.
